Vaniqa

Usage
Vaniqa is Eflornithine – topical. It is used for slowing down the rate of growth of unwanted facial hair for woman. This medication effects a certain enzyme needed in the skin for growth but does not remove hair directly. This drug should not be used for children below 12 years of age.

How to use
Vaniqa is to be applied two times daily leaving around 8 hours in between them or as directed by your doctor. It should be applied at least 5 minutes after hair removal.

Side effects
Vaniqa side effects include stinging, burning, rash or hair bumps. If these side effects persist one should consult a doctor. There might be other side effects too; in that case you should consult your doctor.

Precautions
One should tell his medical history to the doctor before taking Vaniqa. If it is to be used during pregnancy or breast feeding one should consult a doctor.

Drug Interactions
Vaniqa may interfere with the hair treatments or other skin treatments, so tell your doctor about your skin and hair treatments.

Overdose
If overdose of Vaniqa is suspected then one should contact emergency services immediately. Swallowing of this medicine may be harmful. It may bring about facial swelling, hair loss, seizures, upset stomach etc.

Missed dose
If you missed a dose try not to double it up. Skip the missed dose if it almost time for the next dose and if the next dose is quite a far away then take the missed dose. But remember you should keep at least 8 hours of separation between the two doses.
