Tazorac gel

Usage
Tazorac is a prescription calcineurin inhibitor, which should be employed only when other medications have failed to work. It is used in the treatment of whiteheads (closed comedones), blackheads (open comedones), red pimples (papules) and pimples containing pus (pustules). Simply one can say that Tazorac is used in the treatment of Psoriasis and acne vulgaris.

Tazorac cream is available in strengths of 0.1% and 0.05%. Cream 0.1%: Each gram of 0.1% Tazorac cream contains 1 mg tazarotene. Cream 0.05%: Each gram of 0.05% cream includes 0.5 mg tazarotene. The non- medicinal constituents of Tazorac cream include benzyl alcohol, Carbomer 1342, Carbomer 934P, edetate disodium, purified water, medium chain triglycerides, mineral oil, sorbitan monooleate, sodium thiosulphate, and sodium hydroxide to regulate the pH.

How Tazorac works
Psoriasis is treated by Tazorac cream by reducing the inflammation and normalizing the growth of skin cells. Keeping clear skin pores with the use of Tazorac cream can help in treating acne. Several factors can affect the dosage of Tazorac cream such medical conditions, body weight, and other medications. Peeling, stinging, dryness, sun sensitive skin, itching are amid the few side effects you can experience with the use of Tazorac cream. How to use
A thin layer of Tazorac cream is applied on the affected skin area once in a day. You should wash your hands after that if you are not treating your hand. It should be applied on a dry skin only. Henceforth, a sunscreen with at least SPF 15 and protective clothes should be worn when your skin is exposed to sunlight. Avoid applying the medication near your eyes and mouth. Do not wrap the treatment skin areas with bandages or dressings. If your skin is broken or severely inflamed, do not apply Tazorac gel. Proper care should also be taken if you are using other skin treatment medicines or products with alcohol, spices, astringents or any other treatment advised by a doctor. Tazorac is for external application only so avoid contact with mouth, eyes or sensitive body parts.

Drug Interactions
The ingredients of Tazorac may interfere with other drugs so tell your doctor on what sort of drugs you are taking before going for Tazorac.

Overdose
Overdose of any medicine is not good for health. Tazorac is also one of them. In case of overdose you should rinse the area of its application with water and mild soap. After that one should contact the local emergency centre.

Missed dose
If you have missed a dose of Tazorac you should wait for the next dose. But if the time to the next dose is long away then you can apply the missed dose.

Storage
The lid of Tazorac container should always be closed when not in use. It should be kept out of reach of children. Tazorac should have any contact with sensitive body parts, wounds, eyes or mouth. In case of contact you should call the emergency services.
