Stress. Is It Positive or Negative for You?
Which one of us doesn’t have stress?
It is how we react to it that is important.
Aniety Can Be..
Acute form which is short lived, for example, going to meet a new person or preparing for a presentation.
Chronic form goes on for a long time, months into years. A bad childhood experience or a living in a bad situation are examples.
Recognition Of Types of Stress
The acute form may be recognized by noticing a rapid heart beating, rapid breathing, sweating or even sweaty palms. It doesn’t last very long, usually no more than 7 to 10 days.
When anxiety becomes chronic, headaches, abdominal pain, diarrhea, back or neck pain or even more tired than usual, may be symptoms. May be accompanied by some of the symptoms of acute stress.
Problems If Chronic Left Untreated
1. asthma may worse;
2. so could diabetes control
3. can affect heart disease
4. Depress our immune system and make us more susceptible to colds or virus.
Relieving This Stress or Anxiety?
acute forms, usually some simple techniques like starting a project earlier or using some slow breathing exercises to relax
chronic form it becomes more important to try to understand how AND what we are reacting to. Is it from bad experiences of the past or a bad job environment.
