Ortho Tri-Cyclen and pregnancy

Pregnant women should not consume Ortho-Tri-Cyclen. Ortho Tri-Cyclen, contains two types of hormones (norgestimate and ethinyl estradiol), which inhibits the process of ovaries to prepare an egg and send it to the uterus to get fertilised; as a result, no eggs are released. It also thickens the cervical mucus, making it difficult for sperm to enter the uterus.
