Ortho Evra patch is a birth control patch, which can fit into your busy schedule with ease. It contains estrogen and progestin, which are released at a steady speed through the skin and into the bloodstream, once applied to the skin. It reduces fertility by eliminating the fluctuations in the levels of these hormones.

Some side of Ortho Evra

Some side effects associated with Ortho Evra are:

* Bladder infection
* Bleeding in spots during a menstrual period
* Breast tenderness or enlargement
* High blood pressure
* Menstrual pattern changes
* Reduced tolerance to carbohydrates
* Changes in sex drive

Ortho Evra pregnancy

Avoid use of Ortho Evra if you are pregnant. If you have ever had breast cancer or cancer in the reproductive organs or liver tumors, you should not take Ortho Evra. Women who have had pregnancy-related jaundice or jaundice stemming from previous use of hormonal contraceptives should not take Ortho Evra. Ortho Evra may be less effective in women who weigh more than 198 pounds.

You should use three Ortho Evra patches during each 28-day cycle. Examine your breasts monthly and have yearly breast exams by a doctor, if you use Ortho Evra. Hormonal contraceptives do not protect against HIV infection (AIDS) or any other sexually transmitted disease. Use of Ortho Evra along with certain other drugs, could increase, decrease, or alter the effect of either.
