Mental Health Awareness: Take Care Of Your Mental Health Before It’s Too Late

We all have suddenly come across the topic of mental health in wake of some recent incidents. In today’s era many people are suffering from depression or get anxiety attacks, but we don’t talk openly regarding this issue. People suffering from any mental trauma need help. Taking charge of mental health and talking to the right set of people is what is required to tackle the condition. Some may hesitate, while some may simply ignore any such issues. But, for taking care of your mental health in this situation, experts suggest ways to tackle the situation without hampering his/her health.  

Neurologist Dr Sandeep Vora says “We should understand that stress, anxiety or depression is very common problem. One should never ignore signs of depression in themselves and even in their loved ones. Look for possible reasons to talk to those who you think are possibly in need of any help. One should understand that depression and anxiety are treatable disorders. Firstly, try to talk to that person and know what is in his or her mind. And if due to some reasons it is not clear, and symptoms are increasing, without any hesitation consultant a mental health expert to prevent any tragedy.”

Here are some tips to follow:

  • Sleep for at least 6-7 hours every night 
  • Indulge in yoga and brisk walking 
  • Pick a hobby and keep yourself busy 
  • Look for positivity in life
  • Don’t bombard yourself with negative news
