According to the World Health Organization (WHO), washing hands with soap is an effective and affordable way to keep infections and diseases at bay. Global Handwashing Day (GHD) is celebrated every year on October 15. Global Handwashing Partnership (GHP) started the trend of observing Global Handwashing Day in 2008 at World Water Week held in Sweden. The aim was to spread awareness about washing hands thoroughly to avoid diseases. Our hands attract dirt, which is not even visible from naked eyes. Several diseases happen only due to virus and bacteria entering your body through the simplest means. To create awareness about washing hands to keep diseases at bay, this day is of great importance.

Clean Hands, Healthy You
