Training & Fitness

A good exercise program consists of a custom weight training or resistance training regimen based on an individuals overall fitness level.

Weight training strengthens your muscles & bones and is a key element in maintaining a good fitness level. Cardio training is also necessary, however it alone is not enough to have over all true fitness. True fitness incorporates the right combination for your body type. Proper training elevates your metabolism for hours, well after a workout verses cardiovascular training which only lasts as long as the cardio training period itself.

Body Fat & Calories

For each pound of weight that your body carries, it takes about 12 calories per pound per day to keep it alive. If you weigh 150 pounds, you will need about 1,800 calories per day to keep yourself alive and maintain that same weight. Eating more than 1,800 calories per day, will cause the body to turn those extra calorie into fat. It takes about 3,600 excess calories to make one pound of fat.

In the walls of your blood vessels are enzymes called lipoprotein lipases. These enzymes break the fats into fatty acids. The fatty acids are then absorbed from the blood into fat cells, muscle cells and liver cells. In these cells, under stimulation by insulin, fatty acids are made into fat molecules and stored as fat droplets. It is important to note that as your body stores more fat, the number of fat cells remains the same, each fat cell simply gets larger.

Vitamins & Nutrition

Our bodies require the usage of at least 13 different vitamins to function at their fullest capacity. Vitamin A (fat soluble); Vitamin B complex (water soluble); Vitamin C (water soluble); Vitamin D (fat soluble); Vitamin E;Vitamin K (fat soluble); Menaquinone, Pantothenic acid (water soluble); and Biotin (water – soluble).Vitamins which are small molecules, consisting of small particles of a substance that retains the chemical & physical properties of the substance and is composed of two or more atoms, a group of like or different atoms held together by chemical forces. Our bodies can not create vitamin molecules itself. Vitamin molecules must come from good nutritional foods. A poor diet (bad nutrition / junk foods) leads to vitamin deficiency. Without proper nutrition your health suffers and the body will not function at it’s optimum capacity.
