Healthy and Radiant Skin Tips

Posted in Skin care by admin on the June 22nd, 2009

Summer’s here! Time for the beach, swimming and picnicking. But be sure to protect yourself from the elements. Sun exposure, environmental toxins and even air conditioning all take their toll on your skin’s health. Your skin is your body’s barrier against the elements in the outside world, but unfortunately, when those elements attack your skin it can become discolored, appear lifeless and lose elasticity.

Skin health is also compromised by internal factors. Eating at least five servings of fruits and vegetables each day can help your skin retain its youthful glow. The antioxidants in fruit and vegetables work from the inside out to help prevent free-radical damage, which causes skin damage. Additionally, it’s vital to keep your skin well hydrated. Drinking eight 8-oz. glasses of water each day will help your skin stay in great condition. Remember, however, that beverages that contain caffeine and alcohol are no substitute for water.

Penis Size and Poulaines

Posted in Men's health by admin on the June 20th, 2009

Penis size has occupied the attention of both men and women at one time or another. Today’s society feels that bigger is better. Bigger cars are better than compacts, a bigger house is better, and by implication it is assumed that big penises provide more pleasure.

The preoccupation forces society to find a way to decipher a man’s size. Many believe that big shoes mean a big penis. But where did this idea originate, and more importantly, is it true?

Oddly enough, this myth came from fashion. In the 1400′s pointy-toed shoes, called poulaines, were the footwear fashion for men. These shoes were blatantly phallic and often painted flesh-color and allowed to flap with lifelike mobility.

Being good and sometimes being bad

Posted in WeightLoss & Dieting by admin on the June 19th, 2009

How many times have you said: “I was bad yesterday, I ate two cookies!”. OK, we all do it but you may be surprised to learn how much you are harming your chances of successful dieting by looking at food this way.

The danger is that you create negative thoughts about food and associate eating the wrong type of food with a type of behavior called ‘being bad’. Now, whenever you feel the urge, you just have to ‘be bad’ and you can sit and eat whatever you like. And you can answer the nagging voice in your head by saying, it’s OK, all you were doing was ‘being bad’.

Eating Out Tips

Posted in WeightLoss & Dieting by admin on the June 18th, 2009

Eating out can be a trial but here is how to stop eating out from ruining your diet.

1. Share a meal. Have you noticed how restaurant meals are usually more than enough for two? Rather than eat it all or take the leftovers home why not share the meal with a friend. It will stop you over-eating and do your wallet good, too.

2. Already eaten. A good strategy for formal meals is to arrive having already eaten. This means you can pick and choose just a few things without ruining your diet or appearing rude.

Exercise or Diet – Which is Best?

Posted in Fitness by admin on the June 17th, 2009

Losing weight? So, should you get out your running shoes, or cut down on calories? Which one is guaranteed to wave away the pounds and produce that slim, look-at-me figure we all want?

Ten years ago there was no contest – diets (and very restrictive diets they were, too) were all that were available but now, in the light of modern research, that’s all changing.

People who are naturally slim are nearly always people who are active, either with physical jobs or those ‘always on the go’. People who are not naturally slim – well, they tend to be people who prefer less active roles and spend more time sitting or choosing less active options.

Fine Tuning the Abs

Posted in Fitness by admin on the June 13th, 2009

A large percentage of the people who weight-lift say that the thing they feel they need the most work on are their abs. Everybody wishes they had abs like [insert preferred celebrity here] but fears that no matter how hard they try, they never will. And partially, this is true, because everyone has different body and muscle types and yours simply may not match up to the desired look. However, by avoiding a few common mistakes, you can bring yourself to a point where you will be happy with the abs you have:

* Don’t work your abs every day – When you work out you are tearing muscle. That muscle needs time off to heal. So try to give your abs at least one day off between workouts. If your routine is 5 days a week, do them on the 1, 3, and 5.
